Lynne Daley

About the Artist:

Lynne Daley was born and raised in the hamlet of Eastover, SC, on the banks of the beautiful Wateree River. At the University of Georgia, she studied Journalism and became interested in newspaper photography and fine-art photography. She graduated in 1969 with a degree in Journalism. She subsequently married a physician, raised three daughters, and settled in Augusta, Georgia, where she continued to take photographs for family and friends. Encouraged by winning a photography contest in the early 1990s, she took online photography classes and dark-room classes at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in Augusta, Georgia. She has, in recent years, won numerous awards for her still-life photographs. Her influences, reflected in her eclectic style, include Dorothea Lange, Edward Weston, and Dianne Arbus. She has exhibited her work at cafes and art galleries in the Augusta, Georgia area. She is the creator of Photographybylulu.com, which features her photos of coastal scenes, landscapes, and cityscapes and Photo-per-diem.blogspot.com, which features her photos of flowers, fruit, and food. She divides her time between homes in Skidaway Island, Georgia, and Augusta, Georgia.
