Mimi Diamond
Mimi has been drawing since a young child and painting in oils since the age of ten when she won her first award at an art show in Ocean City, New Jersey. She took art lessons in primary through high school, received a BFA from Stephens College and most recently studied under Julie Hanson (oil) and Tom Jones (watercolor).
Mimi was an artist with John Harland Company and Rich’s Department store in Atlanta and Kennickell Printing, Candler General Hospital and Union Camp Corporation in Savannah.
Mimi has exhibited in Atlanta, Savannah and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She is a frequent exhibitor at the Plantation Club and the Merrill Lynch Gallery at the Landings and other Landings Art Association events.
Currently she is an art teacher for the Savannah Speech and Hearing’s Sound Start program at Calvary Day School. Mimi can be reached at 912.660.9717 or mimidiamond@bellsouth.net
Mimi is primarily a landscape painter. She has a “joy of the moment” approach where she attempts to capture the glorious conditions of the day or the experience of the beauty of an individual or scene. A long time quilt maker, her recent paintings have inferences of quilt-style color patterning.
