Judy Humphries
Judy moved to the Landings on Skidaway Island in 1987, from Princeton, N.J. She has always enjoyed the creative side of her life, using color in her interior design work, sewing, crafts, photography and cooking. After retiring ten years ago, she was invited to paint with a group of artistic friends and found that she enjoyed the experience of learning the techniques of working in various mediums and continued her lifelong love of art with a new and exciting career.
The beauty of the world, which she was able to enjoy from her extensive travels and from right here in our own "paradise", full of abundant, dynamic, natural wonders has inspired her works. Workshops have been a excellent resource for sparking new ideas and Judy has been fortunate to have had some wonderful instructors along the way, such as Betty Skinner, Wayne Chambers, Tom Jones, Barbara Kellog and Greg Barnes.
Creating art is a lifelong learning process and that's what makes it so exciting! Judy is currently using pastel as her medium of choice, for the brilliant color and ease in creating interesting landscapes, florals, and architectural scenes. Oil and watercolor have also been used for larger works and she enjoys changing her medium when the mood strikes! She regularly displays her work at the Plantation Gallery and Merrill Lynch. Recently, a large number of her paintings were featured at The Landings Company Sales Office. For more information, please contact Judy at 912 598-1390.
